QANTAS RAMPS UP DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
Qantas has released a range of new offerings as part of their customer experience as international flights resume. These new offerings join the return of much-loved customer favourites (yes, this includes pyjamas and amenity kits!) as the airline resumes international flights.
“We have redesigned our digital booking experience with world-first technology to help our customers easily navigate the post COVID-19 world…Some things haven’t changed including our world class premium service. Our customers can expect a mix of new initiatives and a return of many favourites, all designed to make them feel right at home again the minute they step into one of our lounges or on board our aircraft.” said Qantas Group Chief Customer Officer, Stephanie Tully.
Let’s have a look at what’s new to enjoy, and what’s coming back.
Digital Solution
Qantas will roll out a revamped digital booking and pre-departure experience that will be tailored to each customer’s journey. The roll out will assist with navigating their international travel based on what the government requirements are at their time of travel.
Some of the features will include:
- Destination specific travel requirements
- After you’ve booked, travel requirements will be emailed to customers upon booking and linked to the upcoming interactive Travel Ready section of their website.
- Customised pre-departure reminders will be in play, which involves Emails/SMSs to customers seven days, four days and one day ahead of departure with links to relevant information.
In very exciting news, the new digital experience will include a seamless integration with the IATA Travel Pass. This will make travelling overseas stress-free by giving you the option to upload your vaccine and testing documents to be cleared before you get to the airport.
In addition and to allow for extra preparation time, Australian airport check-in for international flights will also open an hour earlier than pre-COVID.
New Menu
From November onwards, Qantas will roll out a new menu across its international flights and in the lounges including a number of new plant-based options. For a bit of nostalgia, iconic Australian ice-creams will also be added to the inflight menu including Paddle Pops and Splices.
The new menu roll out will also include a signature cocktail – the Qantas Sky Spritz – developed by SOFI to celebrate the return to international skies featuring Australian botanicals including Davidson Plum and Finger Lime. Yum!
Fly Well Amenity kits will continue to be available onboard and move towards being more sustainable which includes compostable cups being rolled out on all international flights.
