Being travel industry professionals, if there’s one thing we love, it’s sparkling new aircraft, cabins and seats. Particularly up near the pointy end of things.
Recently, we’ve highlighted some great enhancements to airline product and experience being implemented by American carriers like United and Delta flying to (and from) Australia. Those airlines have really upped their game.
So, we were delighted to receive an updated from our friends at United this month, highlighting the fact that the airline is deploying a new Boeing 777 on its daily Sydney-San Francisco route during the busy travel period between December 2019 and March 2020.
United’s new 777 features direct aisle access from every seat in Business Class as well as its new Premium Plus premium economy product.
“United’s new premium cabins are looking fabulous. Their investment in new seats, service and lounges is really paying off.”
Sarah Bush, Director of The Travel Authority Group.
United’s Polaris business class experience includes a 198cm lie-flat bed, Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and restaurant quality dining, slippers and a well-provisioned amenity kit. Seats are set in a 1-2-1 configuration ensuring convenient, direct aisle access for every passenger.
In the dedicated Premium Plus cabin, there are just 24 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration with a pitch of 97cm (or 38″).
We look forward to seeing United’s new aircraft and premium cabins in Australian skies this summer.
